Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 August 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Pillar Webhosting services, including domains, web hosting, business email setup, SSL certificates, website design, software, bulk SMS and ICT services. By placing an order or using a service, you agree to these terms.

1. Your account and orders

You must provide accurate contact, billing and account information. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity completed through your account. An order is accepted when payment is confirmed or when Pillar confirms a custom quotation in writing.

2. Prices, payments and renewals

Prices and renewal dates are shown at checkout, on invoices or in an accepted quotation. Services are generally billed in advance. Domain, hosting and SSL renewal notices are sent to the registered account contact where possible; you remain responsible for paying before the due date. Payment processing is handled by approved payment providers. We do not store card PINs or card security codes.

3. Domains

Domain registration is subject to registry and registrar availability, policies and approval. A search result is not a guarantee of registration until the domain is successfully registered. You must ensure that your chosen domain and its use do not infringe another party’s rights. Some Kenyan domains may require availability confirmation before registration.

4. Hosting and email

Hosting resources, features and support levels depend on the purchased package. You must not use services for unlawful activity, malware, phishing, spam, copyright infringement, unauthorised access attempts, abusive bulk mail, or activity that threatens platform security or stability. We may suspend a service where reasonably necessary to protect customers, infrastructure or legal obligations.

5. Website, software and ICT projects

Project scope, timelines, revisions, third-party costs and payment milestones are stated in the applicable quotation or proposal. Client content, approvals and timely feedback affect delivery dates. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, third-party subscriptions, licences, advertising spend, premium plugins and external service fees are paid separately by the client.

6. Backups, security and responsibility

We use reasonable operational safeguards and may provide backup features according to your plan. You should maintain independent copies of important website, email and business data. You are responsible for keeping website software, passwords and authorised users secure. No internet service can be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or completely free from risk.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You may request cancellation through your customer account or by contacting support. Services already delivered, domain registrations, third-party licences, custom work and completed setup work may be non-refundable. Where a refund is due, it is assessed against the service terms, payment costs and work already completed.

8. Service changes and termination

We may update services, prices or these terms with reasonable notice where practical. We may suspend or terminate services for non-payment, fraud, material breach, unlawful use or security risk. You may export your eligible data before cancellation, subject to outstanding balances and applicable service limits.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pillar Webhosting is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, data or business opportunity. Our total liability for a claim related to a paid service is limited to the amount paid for that service during the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Contact
